An officer's spontoon, prior to 1729 Ridged blade with flared guard bars screwed into the baluster socket (replaced), the blade etched on both sides with the Saxon Electoral Swords surmounted by a crown between palm branches, below which a blazing grenade and the cypher "W". Replacement shaft with long side straps and pointed cone-shaped shoe. Length 235 cm. The cypher "W" indicates the use of the spontoon in an infantry regiment under the leadership of Christoph Graf Wackerbarth. Cf.
