Ashby Snow Thatcher, a public accountant of high professional standing, wasborn in Conejos county, Colorado, July 20, 1892, a son of Moses and Georgia (Snow)Thatcher, who were married in Mexico. The father was a native of Sangamon county,Illinois, born February 2, 1842, and was the sixth of the eight sons of Hezekiahand Alley (Kitchen) Thatcher. Georgia (Snow) Thatcher was a native of St. George,Utah. A sketch of Moses Thatcher will be found elsewhere in this publication. Theybecame the parents of fifteen children, of whom Ashby Snow Thatcher was the twelfthin order of birth. He attended the district schools and the public schools of SaltLake City and the Latter-day Saints high school, from which he was graduated with i. ASHBY S. He first entered the brokerage business inSalt Lake in connection with Ralph Badger, but after a year the partnership wa»dissolved, Mr. Thatcher deciding to follow his chosen profession. Since 1916, therefore, he has been active in accounting and auditing and is regarded as one of theexpert accountants of the city. In this connection he has been accorded an extensivepatronage and his ability enables him to readily solve the most intricate businessproblems in the line of his profession.
