Victory in Europe Day (also known as V-E Day, VE Day or simply V Day) marks the formal acceptance by the Allies of WWII of Nazi Germany's unconditional surrender of its armed forces. Victory over Japan Day (also known as V-J Day, Victory in the Pacific Day, or V-P Day) is the day on which Imperial Japan surrendered in WWII, in effect bringing the war to an end.
