It is obtained principally by evaporation from films with mechanical circulationâtwo peculiarities of the Lillie. The higher the coefficient of heat transmission the greater is the possible economy, and the smaller the space occupied. Its high coefficient makes the Lillie the only effect suited to low pressure multiple-etJeots of the higher ordersâsextuple, octuple, etc. The Lillie multiple effect is the only one made that is vapor-reversingâa very strong point. A large Lillie vapor-reversing sextuple effect in a sugar refinery in Philadelphia has worked admirably through the last six years with steam pressure in the hottest effect of only 5 lb. and under. Reversing vapors every three hours it runs practically without incrustation on the heavily incrusting sweet waters from Hawaiian sugars. Other evaporators on these waters must be frequently shut down and cleaned. Furnished exclusively by: WHEELER CONDENSER & ENGINEERING CO. - Carteret, New Jersey Under agreement with the Sugar Apparatus Manufacturing Co., 8. Morris Lillie, Preat., Owners of the Lillie Evaporator Patents. The BALDWIN LOCOMOTIVE WORKS PHILADELPHIA, PA., U. S. A. Seven tank locomotives are offered, subject to prior sale, for delivery in time to help move the next sugar crop. The sketch shows the general design. Two of the locomotives are of 34,000 pounds weight, and five of 37,000 pounds weight. They can be adapted to gauges of 2 feet 5}4 inches to 3 feet. Specifications and prices wi
