Martian landscape. This HiRISE image shows landforms on the surface of Mars. This image shows part of a depression with terraced margins, located to the northwest of Nicholson Crater. This crater is about 100 kilometers wide, and sits almost directly on the Martian equator. It is named after Seth Barnes Nicholson, an American astronomer.
