WWI - A British allied Gurkha soldier from Nepal. with his small machette knife known as a kukri or khukuri . During the First World War more than 90,000 Gurkhas served in the Indian Army, suffering approximately 20,000 casualties, They recieved and around 2,000 gallantry awards for their service.
