Capitoline Wolf: “A gift from ancient Rome to new Rome” The Capitoline Wolf was given to Georgia's Rome in 1929 by Benito Mussolini. The Capitoline Wolf with Romulus and Remus stands in front of the historic City Hall on Broad Street in Downtown Rome. The statue was an official gift from the Roman Governor, by order of the Italian Dictator, Benito Mussolini, and was presented when Chatillon Corporation Silk Mill of Milan, Italy relocated to Georgia's Rome in 1929. The statue is an exact replica of the Etruscan art that stands in the Palazzo dei Conservatori on Capitoline Hill in Rome, Italy. A5TAFP
