ROTA, Spain (March 30, 2021) Damage Controlman 3rd Class Ritchard Lofton, left, is pinned to his current rank by Chief Machinist's Mate Jose Rivera at an all-hands call aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Ross (DDG 71), March 30, 2021. Lofton was promoted following his selection for the Meritorious Advancement Program. Ross, forward-deployed to Rota, Spain, is on patrol in the Sixth Fleet area of operations in support of regional allies and partners and national security interests in Europe and Africa.
