Villa Burrus built in 1935 whose grounds now have become the park land within Sainte Croix-aux-Mines

Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines is a small town in the Haut-Rhin region of Alsace in north-eastern France. This quaint little market town is famed for its once a year mineral show/fair. Sainte Marie-aux-Mines nestles within the Vosges Mountains, along with the Lièpvrette River that flows through it. There is a mining museum on the outskirts along with a military cemetery located just km away. The picturesque center has a small fountain with 4 water spouts. Water flows from the mouths of the same fictitious creature on all 4 sides. Villa Burrus built in 1935 stands within the park and along with the red stone church of Madeline which also adds to the splendor of this interesting little town.
