Housing action group Focus E15 who in previous years have been assaulted and ejected at the Mayor's Newham Show march from their street stall on Barking Road to the nearby former Police Station where they have temporarily occupied the balconies. The police station is close to one of the entrances and they held a protest there as people came to and left the show, speaking out against evictions and attacking the council's failure to provide adequate housing in Newham for long-term residents while hundreds of council homes have been empty for over ten years and the council encourages the building of huge areas of luxury flats for overseas investors and rich newcomers.
