Forms large solid" heads of a light green color, and is slow to seed; leaves beautifully marked and blistered, very crisp and tender, and of excellent flavor. Pkt, 5c, oz. 25c, i| lb. 75c. Saunders. A very desirable cabbage lettuce. It is a good forcing variety, but s especially desirable for an out-door crop. It is very early, a remarkably rapid grower, attains a veiy large size, withstands the heat, and is of the best quality, b^eing very tender and free fi-om bitterness. Pkt. 5c, oz. 25c, 34 lb. 75c. Perpignam or Defiance. A valuable variet}^ for summer use; produces immense solid heads, attaining a diameter of seven to eight inches; will stand long and re- main in fine condition; a very shy seeder; qualitj'' of the very best, crisp, tender and free from all bitter taste. Pkt. 5c, oz. 25c, J4 lb. 75c. ^ Black=Seeded Simpson. Excellent both as a forcer and for outdoor culture. A very rapid grower, and withstands the heat and drouth better than any other variety.
