PHILIPPINE SEA (July 6, 2022) Commanding Officer Cmdr. Joseph McGettigan (right), from Newport, Rhode Island, Executive Officer Cmdr. Cameron Dennis (center), from San Antonio, and Command Master Chief Alan Benavidez, from San Diego, attend a ceremony commemorating the 32nd year of the passing of Marine Col. William R. Higgins on the messdecks aboard Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Higgins (DDG 76). Higgins is assigned to Task Force 71/Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest forward-deployed DESRON and the 7th fleet’s principal surface force.
