Homo habilis (OH 7) jawbone. Top view of the mandible (jawbone) from the type specimen of the fossil hominid Homo habilis (OH 7). The jaw includes well preserved examples of all teeth: incisors, canines, premolars and molars. Specimen OH 7 was found at Olduvai Gorge in Tanzania. The name Homo habilis means \handy man\". is known to have used stone tools. Fossil remains show it had a upright gait, a relatively small brain, but a large body size. The molar teeth, although large, are narrow compared with those of other hominids. is intermediate between Australopithecus and Homo sapiens. It occurred widely in Africa, to million years ago."
