Sergeant Duff of the Signal Corps took this photograph on September 12, 1918. The image shows Soldier Harry Dove from the 9th Infantry, 2nd Division, giving a cigarette to a prisoner at the Headquarters of the 2nd Division in St. Jacques, France. The photograph was approved by the American Expeditionary Forces censor, although the date of approval is unknown.
