WUl you kindly tell me what is the most common cause of the splitting of carnations? I had no trouble with splits until the fireman was changed, a little over a month ago. I was run- ning the carnation houses at a night temperature of 48 to 52 degrees, with excellent results, but since the owner put the new man on the job I have found three or four dozen splits every morning.
