Easter procession in Antigua Guatemala
Used in profile on me in Fuji Vision Mag- in case you don't want to repeat any photos that appeared there. The majority of all Guatemalans are Catholic, some 70 per cent, but this is far less than in most Latin American countries. During the scorched earth campaign of the civil war many Mayans converted to evangelical faiths in the hope that they would be spared. The head of the government and army at the time, Rios Montt, was an Evangelical. This Easter procession is taking place in Antigua. © Brian Atkinson
