Aleos, the founder of the town^was, like Erechtheus^*^, a quasi-divine king, whose head asshown on autonomous coppersclosely resembles that of Zeus(fig. 966) ^^ His house, like thehouse of Erechtheus, was stillto be seen in Pausanias time^^.Again, Aleos instituted the cultof Athena Alea^^ and estab-.
