The wooden bell turret with a large bell at St Mary The Virgin Church built in the 13th century and became a Benedictine Priory in Hurley village, a historical and medieval village on the river Thames in Berkshire, Britain. At the turn of the 17th century, Richard, 1st Baron Lovelace of Hurley, installed the wooden bell turret with a large bell In 1862, the church underwent a major restoration programme. The first Saxon church was reputed to have been built on the same site in c. 633 AD .
