Sow early in spring for early crop, and in mid-summer for late, in hills half inch deep. When the plants are strong enough, transplant on a rainy day, in drills, 1 o stand a foot apart each way; and as soon as the leaves are beginning to touch each other, tie them up over the heart of the plant to blanch.
