Ancient Egyptian mummy case of Penebes, 7th cent BC, 25th Dynasty. Kunsthistorisches Muesum Vienna inv AEG10. Cartonnage stucco. The green face color is unusual and exceptional. Green is the color of the affirmation, of flourishing. The yellow beard band frames the face. The sky goddess Nut spreads her wings wide over the chest. Below is the laid out the mummy with the lamentations from Isis and Nephtys. The mummy case is divided longitudinally and transversely with ribbons, which also corresponds to the winding of mummies. The inscriptions mention the Prophet de Min-Herm-von-Achmim Penebes, son of the Priest and scribe of the treasury of the Temple of Min Iret-hor-ru and the lady Aset-iti.
