We have neverbeen able to find the Thorny Restharrow in ourWycombe district, although we have received a specimen from the north of the county but theThornless Restharrow is very general here, andwe have once found it with a few weak thorns uponthe stem,—very different, however, to those of0. campestris. A variety {parviflorum) of the PurpleClover {Trifolium pratense) may be noticed in dryplaces ; it has stalked flower-heads, and the calycesequal, or exceed, the corolla in Fig. 16.
