Dahlias also are much in demand. Other stocks are up to the standard. Various Notes. A. L. Besancon & Co. report a busy week in funeral and wedding work. A pretty compliment has been paid to Miss Besancon, who was selected by Miss Helen Johnson, of New Bruns- wick, N. J., to take charge of the elaborate church and home decorations for her wedding. Miss Johnson was so much impressed with the artistic work of Miss Besancon at the time of the marriage of Miss Marion Jones that she decided to engage her for her own wedding. Baldwin had the decoration and bouquets for the Hirchfield-Cohen wed- ding at the Hotel Casey. Schultheis has a pretty window dis- play, with autumn leaves and mums. G. R. Clark is cutting fine dahlias at his gardens, for which he finds a ready call. F. J. M. NASHVILLE, TENN. The Maxket. The last week saw three killing frosts and the trade rejoices, for there will be no more outdoor flowers to speak of. Dahlias are not entirely de- stroyed in some places, but they will not cut any figure in the market. Even cosmos has suffered. It is too soon for the picking up in business that the change in weather is sure to bring, but already things are strengthening. Last week business was good all over town and there were more wholesale orders than for some time. The bulb business is expected to pick up now that the bedding plants are frosted.
