Another chapter on themanufacture of Iron and Steel has been inserted becauseit is believed that the workman should have some knowl-edge of the metals, and how they are obtained. It isnot thought necessary or advisable to go deeply intothe subject of metallurgy, or to introduce metallurgicaltheory.
