London Heathrow Airport, London, UK. 21st Dec, 2020. The effect that COVID-19 has had on air travel has resulted in a number of airlines prematurely retiring their Boeing 747 Jumbo Jets. At risk of scrapping the last two Virgin 747s have found a saviour in Atlas Air in the US. After flying to Heathrow for maintenance the first one departed for its new home last week, with the final one – G-VROY named 'Pretty Woman' – going today. This is very likely the last time that a passenger 747 will be seen at Heathrow with just cargo versions visiting
