Thomas dressed up as female "Buffalo Soldier", Cathay Williams also known as William Cathay, recited a verse from a poem called "Cathay Williams in Cowboy Poetry" in tribute to Black History Month. "She [Cathay Williams] was one of the most recognized in Military history," said Thomas. "We as soldiers today are standing on her shoulders, she paved the way because she had to deny her gender to serve and now we don't have to deny gender, we come as we are and we serve honorably as we are. So I think she did a tremendous job, paving the way for all soldiers not only female soldiers, but for all soldiers." 'LifeLiners' celebrate Black History Month 130220-A-ZT122-064
