Following Memorial day, prices have dropped considerably. Sweet peas were hard hit by the ex- tremely warm weather last week and carnations and roses also suffered from it. Carnations had to be good stock to bring $2 and $3 per hundred. Peo- nies were at their height, both in qual- ity and quantity. There was little de- mand for callas and Easter lilies. Bed- ding stock sold exceedingly well last week and large quantities of outdoor stock were on the market. Out-of- town business was satisfactory. Various Notes. George C. Shaffer is out of town on a trip in connection with the Kiwanis Club. Fred Leapley is at home again after having an operation performed. He ex- pects to be able to take charge of his place of business within a short time. His brother, Lawrence Leapley, has shown kind interest in the business dur- ing Mr. Leapley's absence. The Jewish national flower day was observed by the Zionists of Washing- ton, D. C, Sunday, June 13, by means of the sale of flowers throughout the city for the benefit of the Jewish na- tional fund for the purch
