Sow for very early use in hot-beds during the win- ter or early spring, or later on in shel- tered borders, in well - manured, deeply dug, and finely-raked soil; if not well-stimulated inio a rapid growth they become fibrous and tough. Sow in drills ten inches apart, and thin to two inches in the rows. Sow at intervals of two or three weeks until September for a succession. The winter varieties should be sown in July and August; like the Turnip, they make the best growth in the autumn, and must be taken up before severe frost, and stored away in a cool cellar in sand. y McCullougli's CincinnatijMarket.
