New and distinctive advertising in such a medium has of late been done by G. K. M. Stumpp, three examples of which are given on this page. Of course, one of the essentials in this class of advertising is to make the dis- play a catching one. It must attract the eye. How well the advertisements of Mr. Stumpp fulfill their mission may be judged from an examination of the reproductions on this page. Short and to the point seems to be their general characteristic. Mr. Stumpp features $5 specials and to further the catclfiuess of these items he has named them " Hobbv Box," "Happy Hap Fern" and " Tis- ket Tasket ; The advertisements appearing on thiad, competitive business.
