ROY ALL AND JONES AREREPRESENTATIVES ONSTUDENT COUNCIL At the regular nteeting of theFreshman Class last Tuesday night,the most important business beforethe class was to elect two representa-tives for the Student Council and onerepresentative for the Class Student Council representativesare Jane Royall from Tazewell, Va.,and Ruth Jones from Chattanooga,Tenn. The Class Council representa-tive is Elsie Hardy from Hampton, There were four girls who held of-fices in the Debate Club for this yearwho did not return to school, so ameeting was called some time ago toselect girls to fill their places, and thefollowing girls were chosen: French Hutt, chairman of the Coun-cil; Polly Sheffield and Alice Hamner,representatives for the Council; MaryPage White, treasurer. The first regular meeting of theclub was held Thursday, Otcober tour into North Carolina, SouthCarolina, and Alabama, has beenplanned for December or means that the varsity debatersmust be chosen early. November, thefourth, is the date set for varsitytry-outs and the subject for the de-bates is Nations Should Adopt aPlan of Complete Disarmament, Ex-cepting Such Forces as Are Neededfor Police Purposes. After the business meeting, Dx\Walmsley gave a bit of advice to thenew and old members in his own de-lightful way. The remainder of the program wasfurnished by the new members.
