Diamond Aircraft is a manufacturer of single engine, twin engine and a jet aircraft model that is in development. Prices start at $179,800(USD) for the single engine two seater DA20. $624,500(USD) for the twin engine four seater DA42 and $ million (USD) for the D-JET model. In 2011 the company had a 33 percent increase in sales, delivering 185 units versus 139 units in 2010. In February 2012 the company announced an order for 26 DA40s to be delivered to Flight Training Adelaide in Australia. In March 2012 they delivered 6 of 12 DA20's to be used by the Ecuador Air Force. The company has sold and delivered product to Canada, United States, Australia, New Zealand, Singaore, India, China, Europe, South America, South Africa, Mexico and Turkey. They employ just under 200 workers in a factory that used to build de Havilland Mosquito fighters in World War Two. Mark Spowart special to the Globe and Mail.
