Its great productiveness is shown from the fact that each vine matures from seven ti. eight large melons while Kolb Gem and Cuban Queen rarely produces more than two or three; and the meat is more scarlet, finer and of much better quality, being by far a much better and the most salable melon ever grown. The color is dark green and beautifully striped. Flesh is sweet, juicy and tender. Pkt. 6c.; 2 pkts 10c; oz. 12c: 2 oz. 20c: £ lb. 35c: lb. $1 00. 973.—Christmas. After being kept in the cellar for a period of three months, they cut open as fresh and delicious as they were picked. Their valuable keeping and shipping qualities are due to a peculiar, hard, tena- cious coatiDg or outside enameling of the skin, which also gives them an exceedingly handsome and fresh appearance, even after being kept or allowed to remain on the vines for months after ripening. The rind is thin and the flesh is of a beautiful rich scarlet, very solid, and of a delicious sugary flavor. Its uniform size, handsome and fresh appearance at all times, makes it a most salable va- riety. The best for shippping purposes. Pkt. 5c.; oz. 12c; % lb. 25c; lb. 85c 974. —Bed Seeded Vaucluse. Has blight red seeds. This characteristic in union with its intensely brilliant red flesh, gives it a peculiarly beautiful appearance on the table. The flesh colors right up to within one-fourth inch of the skin, is melting, very juicy and of most exquisite flavor, and not in the least stringy. The melons attain good size, ripen very early, and are of an elongated egg shape; skin a dark green, or handsome, glossy appearance. A first-class ship- per. Oz. 10c; Vi lb. 35c 975. —Improved Mountain Sweet
