The roots grow uniform and smooth, being always well formed, of large size and deep, rich orange (Ckt^ color. It is a good keeper, of fine quality for table use, and highly nutritious for stock. This is a field carrot, and especially suitable for soils that are not very deep; it is productive, easily pulled, and keeps well.
