Modbury reusable shopping bag. Shopper carrying her shopping in a cotton bag. This design is the official Modbury reusable bag and is made from ethically sourced organic cotton. Modbury, in South Devon, UK, was the first town in Europe to impose a complete ban on plastic bags in retail outlets. The ban came into force on May 1st, 2007. Instead of plastic, customers are offered durable bags made from organic and fairtrade cotton or other natural fibres.
