First motorcycle invention, historical artwork. This motorcycle, the Velocipedraisiavaporianna, was steam-powered and used a steam turbine instead of a piston steam engine. It was invented in Germany but tested in the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris on 5th April 1818. Artwork from Histoire de la Locomotion Terrestre (Paris, 1936).
