IBIZA, Spain (Oct. 4, 2014) An Ibiza harbor pilot climbs a ladder to board the Arleigh Burke-class, guided-missile destroyer USS Mitscher (DDG 57) before the ship pulls in for a port visit. Harbor pilots help the crew guide the ship into ports with challenging maneuvers or during inclement weather. Mitscher, homeported in Norfolk, Va., is conducting naval operations in the 6th Fleet area of operations in support of national security interests in Europe.
