A shrine display in front of a business in Jomtien, Pattaya, Thailand, includes a pig's head, incense sticks, fruit and candles. Local people present a pigs’ head as part of an offering at a shrine hoping it will bring good health and fortune. The price of pigs' heads has increased recently to the equivalent of £30 or more so cheaper foods are sometimes used instead. In the Buddhist religion the pig represents one of the 'three poisons', in this case delusion.
