ON THE SO-CALLED OCCIPITAL TYPE OF CRANIALCONSTRUCTION IN THE MENTALLY DEGENERATE.* It has been the aim of scientists to establish a methodby which one could determine to what human type a givenskull belongs; the higher, the lower or the degenerate. Aftera careful analysis of the results that can be obtained byvarious cranial measurements Dr. Vorobiov concludes that theleast erroneous measurements are those of the anterior partof the brain; the part measured by a line starting fromthe foremost frontal point and ending at the central junctionof the bi-auricular lines. For the sake of shortness, this line iscalled ophrion-tragus, as the junction of the bi-auricular lines takesplace just in front of the tragus. Many objections can be made tothis method, but it seems to be the least erroneous of all. A fewfigures thus obtained are not strikingly character
