Thearticular ends of the bones are then exposed and removedwith a metacarpal saw or with bone-forceps (Fig. 451).In excising the interphalangeal joints, the incision isusually made upon the side of the joint, and when thearticular surfaces of the bone have been exposed they areremoved with a small saw or forceps.
