Ocean Rebellion activists protest in London to raise awareness of the Wakashio oil disaster and the use of fossil fuels in the shipping industry.

Activists protest on the first day of a Greenhouse Gas Reducing conference held at UN shipping regulatory body, the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Protesters highlighted the highly polluting nature of the shipping industry, producing one billion tonnes of carbon dioxide annually and the ecological impact of the Wakashio oil spill that caused the death of 50 whales and dolphins off the Mauritian coast in August.
