Watson first transmitted sound over wires. Watson had twanged a clock spring in their experimental telegraphic device, and Bell heard the sound on a second device. On March 10th, 1876, Bell shouted the words, Mr. Watson, come here, I want to see you. Watson heard Bell's voice over their apparatus. This event marks the first use of a telephone. Photographed between 1915 and 1925.
