Bright golden starting cannons face north and seaward to the Solent outside the Royal Yacht Squadron, Cowes, Isle of Wight. It hosts the famous Cowes Regatta and the start of the Fstnet Race. Cargo and container ships sometimes sail nearby en route to Southampton avoiding the shallow Bramble Bank in the Solent. The fast redjet ferry to Southampton is just leaving.
