The rising of air bubblescontinued for a considerable length of time, and had not entirelystopped when pouring was completed and the pounding wasdiscontinued. During the pouring of the slab an observation was made tofind the angle of repose of the concrete. The concrete wTas pouredinto the form at one point and allowed to flow toward both ends, assisted to some extent by the pounding outside the form. Itwas found that the slope of the concrete surface was 300 or moreabove the horizontal. In order to check the consistency of the mixture used in thepouring tests, four control cylinders were made. The tests forconsistency were made by filling 6 by 12 inch cylindrical moldswith concrete taken from the wheelbarrow as it was being wheeledto the form for pouring the slab.
