On the way we, of course, saw many Song, Vesper andField Sparrows, but what interested the children most werethe numbers of Goldfinches that flew from the thistleswhen we approached too near. Goldfinches are great fav-orites with everybody; by country boys and girls they arevery often known as Wild Canaries 01 Thistle-birds.
