Roman mosaic tiles and hypocaust in La Olmeda. Palencia, Spain. The Roman Villa La Olmeda, is a large rural mansion from the Lower Empire (4th century AD), whose main building or pars urbana, has a square plan flanked by towers at each corner and is arranged around a central patio and peristyle to the Open the different dependencies. This palatial villa covers an area of 4,400 m2 with a total of 35 rooms distributed between the main house and the bathrooms, 26 of which are decorated with 1,450 m2 of polychrome mosaics preserved in situ. The complex was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest on April 3, 1996.
