Very distinct, excellent for summer use and for growing in the South, as it resists the greatest heat. Defiance. One of the very best Lettuces, crisp and ten- der, and remains in prime condition a long time before going to seed. As a summer variety it has become a standard sort. Sensation, Very similar to Salamander; good summer variety. KingSholm Cos.
