Wet autumn view people, Trump Hotel plaza stainless steel globe, facing Columbus Circle Broadway, Central Park West, New York
The Trump International Hotel, on the far right side of the shot, was builr in 1969 as the Gulf and western office building before being remodelled as a hotel 1995-97. The hotel has 44 floors and is 176 m high. On the triangular plaza in front of the hotel, facing Columbus Circle, with its statue of Christopher Columbus built in 1892 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Discovery of America, Donald Trump placed a stainless steel globe as a symbol of internationalism. The globe is an icon of this south-west corner of Central Park. In the background of the shot we see the glass towers of the Times Warner Centre and the intersection of Broadway with one of the few roundabouts in New York.
