Sidewall - fragment, Block-printed on handmade paper, a) Obverse: A mythological scene of three classic figures in grisaille representing a bacchic scene, Youth with a thyrus holding up Bacchus whose fallen empty drinking cup is on the ground. Maenade with a lyre is laughing at him. At top is an applied border simulating a draped fabric, edged top and bottom with lace, and held up by a leaf motif. At bottom is a border simulating marble. b) Reverse: A Directoire design of alternating geometric squares with rosettes. Between are figures of children at play done in grisaille.
