Red Shouldered Hawk and Snake Do Battle Between shoreline
The hawk catches the snake in a reed bed along the shoreline. Hawk carries snake to firsts tree with snake trying to bite hawk. hawk landed on limb and stood on snake. Snake wrapped it' tail around a small branch and struck at hawk. Hawk holding on to snake just below head and extending wings and other leg falling back off branch while holding onto snake. When hawk had a chance to raise up and grab snakes head, he did and in turn, the snake released it's grip on the branch. The hawk then flew to a second tree with a wider branch and standing on snakes head, begins to pull the snake apart. One image snows blood on snakes mouth and blood on hawks bill. It was an amazing chacce to see life play out before not only my eyes but several hikers who stopped to watch what was happening.
