A mile or so beyond is the Old-Colonystation (18 miles from Boston), whence the new Nantasket-Beach Railwaydiverges to the beach, running through a quaintly desolate region of rockyhillocks and level salt-marshes. The South-Shore train continues on toCohasset, Scituate, Marshfield, and Duxbury, in the very heart of the landof the Brass Mortar, Life-Boat Station.
