Relief depicts Sharpur I on horseback as he receives supplication from Roman Praetorian prefect, Philip the Arab, as Philip begs for his life. Sharpur holds the arm of Roman Emperor Valerian - defeated and captured circa 260 Under the hooves of Sharpur's horse lies the body of Roman Emperor Gordian.
